Introducing the Bookpay Guest Spot Board
Finding a guest spot shouldn't take fifty Instagram DMs. Today it usually does: artists message studio after studio, and studios with an empty chair hope the right person happens to ask.
The Bookpay Guest Spot Board puts both sides in one place. Tattoo artists post where and when they want to guest. Studios post when a chair is open. It's free, it takes about two minutes, and you don't need an account.
How it works
- Posting takes about 2 minutes, with no account. Our team checks each post in the admin before it goes live.
- Artists add a city, dates, up to 3 styles, the deal they want (split, day rate or open to offers) and photos of their work.
- Studios add the dates a chair is free, the styles they want, what they offer, and a split or day rate shown in their local currency. They can also tick "We take guest artists any time".
- Matching: when an artist and a studio fit the same city, dates and style, we email both of them. Flexible dates can be up to a week apart.
- Instagram: people can connect their account to get a Verified badge and pick photos straight from their latest posts.
- My posts: people sign in with an email link to edit, share or delete their posts and see their matches.
- Share links show a preview with the photo, city and dates, ready to send in a DM.
It's open to everyone. You don't need to use Bookpay to post if you're looking for your next guest spot or have an open chair. Any tattoo artist or studio can join, post, browse and get matched. We built it for the community, to make it easier for artists and studios to find each other.
For artists: tell studios where you want to work
Pick the city, your dates and up to three styles. Say what deal you're after: a revenue split, a day rate, or open to offers. Add a few photos of your work and you're done.
Tick "The dates are flexible" if you can move a little. We'll also show you to studios up to a week before or after your dates.
Once your post is live, you can also share it with the studios you'd love to work with. Tap Share, then send the link in an Instagram DM or anywhere else. It shows a preview with your photo, city and dates, so studios see your work before they even open it.
For studios: fill your open chair
Post the dates your chair is free, the styles you're looking for (or any style), and what you offer: a station, supplies, help with bookings or a place to stay.
Set your deal as a split or a day rate. The day rate shows in your local currency automatically, so an artist browsing from abroad sees "£100 per day" and knows exactly where they stand.
Host guest artists all year round? Tick "We take guest artists any time" and skip the dates. Your post stays up for three months, and a week before it ends we email you a one-click link to keep it up. Every artist heading to your city in a style you work with is a match.
We match you, so you don't have to search
When an artist and a studio fit each other, we email both of them. A match means:
- the same city
- dates that overlap, are up to a week apart when either of you is flexible, or a studio that takes guests any time
- at least one style in common, or a studio open to any style
Every match comes with a "Message on Instagram" button and a link to your post, ready to send. Your matches also stay listed in My posts, updated as new posts go live.
Real artists, real studios
Our team checks every post before it goes live. Connect your Instagram (Business or Creator account) and your post gets a Verified badge, so people know the account is really yours. Add photos of your work by uploading them, picking them straight from your latest Instagram posts, or both.
There's no password to remember. Go to My posts, enter your email, and we send you a link to edit, share or delete your posts. Posts come down on their own when your dates pass.
